Day 13 - Wednesday 26 April

On Wednesday, Elizabeth, Sarah and Chris went to Disney Springs while I stayed at the house to take some photos to update our website.

Day 12 - Tuesday 25 April

Today we were at Animal Kingdom.

One issue is that we're getting into a summery spell of weather where the day starts off well enough and then mid-afternoon onwards thunderstorms develop in the south of Florida and move northwards, so it's a case of will they hit us - yes, when - could be any time, how much rain will fall and will there be hail to puncture some of our pool screen panels?

We had a good run round Animal Kingdom, but the sky grew ever darker and eventually it opened up on us and we found ourrselves in a sub-tropical rainstorm!

An enduring problem for me rose its ugly head once again this week.

I have an optician's appointment every two years and my next one is very soon.  When I had my last two appointments, they said that any changes were marginal and that it wasn't really worth it having new ones.

So my latest set of reading glasses and a pair for driving and outdoors generally stem from 2017.  But, over time I have this unfortunate habit of 'mislaying' them.  

One pair I lost last time when we were here.  I'm sure they're somewhere in the house but they have never turned up.

Then I managed to drop a pair in the lay-by where I sometimes go dog walking.  After a while I realised how it might have happened.  I went back, only to find that an articulated lorry appeared to have just run over them.  I found them and they were almost restorable, but not quite.

Last Sunday I think I lost what must be the fourth pair.  I always bring a spare old pair with me, so I went to the glasses case with the note saying that they were from 2007 and - there were none inside!

We thought we could work backwards and find this latest pair which was at a restaurant in Orlando.  I phoned them and they had a pair, so off we went.  At the restaurant, the staff member produce a pair from the drawer - and then another pair, and another pair, but none were mine.

We then asked at the local supermarket where we had also been but no luck and even at the UPS office next door in case I had dropped them in the car park, but we drew a blank.

So it was back to the supermarket to buy a pair of ready readers, so I'm back in business.

Day 11; Monday 24 April

We awoke early to get to Hollywood Studios. We wandered around Galaxy's Edge, the Star Wars themed area followed by a singalong (or snooze for some, but not Graeme, despite the hint here!) to the Frozen Sing Along. The young uns in the group then persuaded us to go on Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway which was posted at a 60-minute wait, but we only had to wait 30 minutes or so, so not bad. 

It was then time for a quick snack and a drink before we headed off to Art of Animation via the Skyliner, mainly to see Lightning McQueen and the other 'Cars' characters.

A quick stop by the shop was then needed to grab something for the folks back home.   En route back to the villa we had our favourite lunch at Olive Garden before heading back (for a snooze for some, but again not Graeme in case you thought it might be) and a sort out for others.

Had a Dominos delivery for our evening meal as we were rather full after our lunch so there are leftovers!
